| I've never really missed someone...I mean like REALLY missed someone, until now. Gut wrenching, heartaching, sappiness.
It's funny, it's not like Alex isn't coming back. For goodness sakes, he's only gone for 4 days. 4 DAYS!!! That's nothing! If I had met myself 5 years ago in some kind of random, yet cool timewarp, I'd probably tell myself, "Hey man, suck it up."
Here are the facts: 1. Alex is in LA 2. His trip is 4 days long 3. It is for business
Here is my brain trying to get me to stop being such a girl: 1. Yeah, he's in LA, not somewhere halfway across the world in a different time zone amidst people who speak some kind of foreign language. 2. Get a grip! 4 days is nothing. You won't die. Think of it like a long weekend. He'll be back. 3. Right, this is for work. It's not like he's putting himself in mortal danger by attempting some kind of perilous, life altering journey.
So why did I feel such a pang in my stomach this morning as I was getting ready for work? I literally had to hit myself to knock that feeling out of me.
Welp, I guess it comes down to this . . .
LOVE.
I'm in LOVE with this man.

I love how he treats me, how he loves me through the love of GOD and
not through the way the world tells him to love me. I love how we both
equally work at our relationship, and yet it feels effortless enjoying
and spending time with him. I love how content and happy I am with him.
I love his compassion for others and the way that he thinks. I love
that he always tries to look at the best in people. I love how he helps
me evaluate my thinking in a Godly and biblical way, even when I'm
stubborn. I love that he's patient with me. I love that he gets me and
makes me laugh. Plus so much more, but I don't want to make you gag.
Yeah. LOVE. So thaaaaaaat's what this is.
It makes me think of how badly Jesus longs for us. How much He loves us
and wants the same in return...yet would never, ever force it from us
like we were some kind of puppet.
“You wives will submit to
your husbands as you do to the Lord. For a husband is
the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his body,
the church; He gave His life to be her Savior. As the
church submits to Christ, so you wives must submit to
your husbands in everything. And you husbands must love
your wives with the same love Christ showed the church.
He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean,
washed by baptism and God's word” (Ephesians 5:22-26)
“In the same way, husbands ought to love
their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually
loving himself when he loves his wife. No one hates his own body but
lovingly cares for it...” (Ephesians 5:28-29).
“So I say again, each
man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must
respect her husband” (Ephesians 5:33).
“You wives must submit to
your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. And
you husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly”
(Colossians 3:18-19).
“In the same way, you husbands must give honor
to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together.
She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in
God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your
prayers will not be heard” (1 Peter 3:7).

| RIP
In loving memory of Fred, Wilma and Pebbles
You will forever be in my heart as the green onions that survived for over two weeks. Your will to live and ability to provide for three dishes will continue to stand as an inspiration to fight the good fight.

| LookLook!
 Guess what this is?
If you guessed shrimp poop and guts... you're RIGHT!!!
On Friday nights, we all go back home to my parents house for dinner before Church. It's always nice to catch up with the fam. Last night, I was given the job of depooping and degutting the shrimp with Jen. My first reaction was like, eeww gross. And then I started getting REALLY into it! It was wierd! It was like, semi Dr. 90210ish/CSIish. Imagine! I could be the next Crime Scene Investigator :)
...and then we had THIS! | | |
